The student involved in flap over a two-word Twitter post in the Elk River School District is going back to school Monday, but in a different district, the Star Tribune reports.

Reid Sagehorn received a seven-week suspension from Rogers High School after he replied to a rumor on an ask.fm page that he "made out" with a 28-year-old teacher. Sagehorn responded "actually, yes," in apparent sarcasm, but the district didn't find the matter funny and suspended him.

Accompanied by his parents and one of his three Minneapolis attorneys in an interview with the Star Tribune, Sagehorn did not disclose where he would be attending school.

Sagehorn told the paper that he has apologized to the teacher, and said, "it's definitely important that everybody who has heard about the story know how sincerely sorry I am."

"No matter how I meant it, (it) doesn’t matter," Sagehorn told the Star Tribune. "Sarcasm doesn’t belong on the Internet. One bad interpretation …"

Sagehorn's attorneys tell FOX 9 that they plan on attending with their client Monday night's meeting of the Elk River School Board. The lawyers say they plan on speaking during the open forum portion of the meeting.

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office said Friday that there is insufficient evidence to charge Sagehorn with any criminal offense in the case.

Sagehorn has been suspended from Rogers High School until April 22. The student, who has a 3.8 grade point average, has been removed from the National Honor Society and several school activities including basketball and baseball.

A Change.org petition, signed by more than 4,700 people to date, calls the suspension "excessive."

One of Sagehorn's attorneys, Joe Friedberg, told the star Tribune that Rogers Police Chief Jeff Beahen and Superintendent Mark Bezek, who has defended the suspension, should resign.

According to the paper, Beahen said last week that Sagehorn could be charged with a felony for defamation, and later suggested he made a mistake.

"In my opinion, the police chief must be an imbecile and the superintendent is not far behind," Friedberg told the Star Tribune.
