Roseville office building evacuated as police pursue suspect
Police pursuit of a wanted man who is believed to be armed led to the evacuation of a Roseville office building Friday, but authorities a search of the building produced no sign of the suspect.
KSTP reports police told the public to stay away from the 2900 block of Center Pointe Drive. A Courtyard Marriot hotel and several other businesses are in the area, the station says.
According to the Star Tribune the suspect is a 20-year-old man from St. Paul who police say threatened a woman during a domestic dispute at the hotel today.
The Pioneer Press reports a witness who called police said the man had fled into the building that holds the offices of Symantec Corp. The building was evacuated as a precaution and was searched by a SWAT team but the newspaper says no sign of the man was found.
Reporters with the Pioneer Press and FOX 9 were posting updates on Twitter during the manhunt.
The Star Tribune says workers were ordered to evacuate the Symantec building at about 12:30. One worker told the newspaper “A couple employees apparently saw him, and he took off running.”
