Roseville police asking for public's help after fatal shooting at apartment complex

A man was shot and killed at an apartment complex.

The Roseville Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a murder suspect.

At 5:25 p.m. on Saturday, Roseville officers got a call about shots fired at the Centennial Garden East Apartments, located at 1420 Centennial Drive, the department said in a news release.

The first officer at the scene found an unconscious man with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the ground on the east side of the apartment complex.

More police officers, fire fighters, and paramedics arrived on scene and began life-saving measures, but the victim was later pronounced dead.

The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Dondi Antwan Nalls from Roseville.

Roseville Police Chief Rich Mathwig told KSTP it appears the victim and the suspect knew each other, and that investigators do not believe the public is in danger.

Police are looking for a vehicle of interest that was seen fleeing the scene, described only as a "white passenger sedan."

Residents in Roseville and neighboring communities are advised to be extra vigilant until the suspect is found, KSTP says.

"If you’ve seen someone that’s suspicious, somebody that comes into your house tonight that might be a little bit of blood on him or her, that might have disheveled look, that might have a story, might have something going on they can’t quite comprehend, just give 911 a call," Mathwig said during a press conference following the shooting.

Authorities describe this as a "very active investigation."

Investigators are interviewing a number of witnesses, gathering evidence and following up on all leads. Very little additional information is available at this time, the release says.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension will be assisting with this investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Minnesota Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. It can be done anonymously.
