Roseville police find body in submerged car, possibly missing woman

Police in Roseville discovered a car with a body inside in the icy water of Lake Josephine Sunday afternoon, and they suspect it is a Shoreview woman who's been missing for the past week.

The car was reported to authorities about 1 p.m. Sunday, about 75 feet away from the boat ramp, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Ramsey County Water Patrol, along with other agencies, responded to the call, according to KARE 11, and they found a woman's body inside the car.

The silver-gray 2002 Saturn SL2 matches the description of a vehicle owned by the 64-year-old woman named Judi, who was reported missing by her husband last Sunday.

Judi – whose full name was withheld at her family's request – was heard getting out of bed around 4 am last Sunday, the Ramsey County sheriff said.

When her husband awoke at 8 a.m. she wasn't home and her car was gone. She had left her purse and cell phone behind. No one had heard from her since then.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner will release the woman's identity along with an official cause of her death.
