It's been one year since cancer stole Flip Saunders from the world.
The Timberwolves honored their only head coach to take them to the playoffs with a caption on social media saying, "Always remember."
Ricky Rubio used the hashtag "F--- cancer" on an Instagram post that added: "It's been a year but you always with me. I will never forget everything you did for me."
Rubio also lost his mother to cancer earlier this year, according to ESPN.
Karl-Anthony Towns, who was drafted No. 1 overall by Saunders just months before his death, used a hashtag saying he hopes Saunders is proud of him.
Zach LaVine uploaded a photo of him with Flip saying: "Always wit us. Thanks coach."
Saunders announced Aug. 11, 2015 that he was battling a curable form of Hodgkin's Lymphoma. But due to complications, he died Oct. 25, 2015 – just three days before that NBA season was set to begin. He was 60 years old.
