Two Minneapolis police officers encountered an unusual rescue situation this week.

According to a Facebook post, they'd been working at the 1300 block of Olson Memorial Highway.

That's when the officers spotted a small runaway guinea pig darting toward a nearby playground.

Trying to evade the cops, the animal slipped under some playground equipment and ended up getting stuck.

So the police came to the rescue. With the help of kids from the apartment complex, they were able to catch the runaway.

When they found the animal's home, the owner said it'd been missing for nearly a week.

The name of the guinea pig has not been released at this time.
