Looking for a charitable gift this holiday season? There's a CD you can buy to help military families.
The album is a country artist compilation featuring 18 songs by Minnesota artists. And all the proceeds from the CDs are donated to support Minnesota military families.
It's the third album of its kind from Minnesota radio station Total Country BOB FM. All net proceeds from Minnesota Country Salute CD: Volume 3 are being donated to the Minnesota Military Family Foundation and Tribute to the Troops.
BOB FM Program Director Neil Freeman told GoMN News that the station has a long tradition of promoting great local musicians, and the album is a balance of both uptempo songs and ballads. Here's the track list.
BOB FM created the first Minnesota Country Salute CD two years ago with a goal to connect talented local artists and bands to a wider audience, while supporting a cause that BOB FM cares about, a news release from the station says.
Sales from the last two CDs brought in $42,000 total, and the station hopes to raise $25,000 this year.
"We know our audience really believes in supporting the men and women who serve our country, and BOB FM is proud to donate money to these causes. They are both 100 percent volunteer organizations, so the money donated goes to where it's suppose to go, and that was important to us as well," Freeman said.
The CD is $10 (plus tax) and goes on sale Black Friday. It will be available at all 53 Wendy’s locations in the Twin Cities, St. Cloud, and Alexandria, and online at www.DealsOnRadio.com.
Seven of the Wendy's locations will have launch parties featuring live music and on-air personalities from BOB FM on Friday. If you buy a CD while you're there, you'll score a coupon for a free Frosty.
Here's a list of all the participating Wendy's locations.
