Schwan CEO steps down

Schwan Food Company CEO and president Greg Flack has announced that he is stepping down from the company.

A report in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal says that the company has already done an extensive search and a new leader will be named in the near future.

The Marshall based company did not say why Flack, 49, is leaving, but said he is stepping down to pursue other business interests after five years as the leader of the company.

According to the Marshall Independent, Allan Schuman, Chairman of the Board for Schwan, said they are grateful for Flack's 26 years of leadership and service to the company. Schuman added that everyone associated with the company believes in its unlimited potential for growth in the markets it competes in.

Flack's company profile said he has been with Schwan since 1987, he was named the CEO, president, and COO of the company in 2008 after serving a brief stint as the company's interim leader.

His resignation will take effect on Oct. 4.

Schwan's was the sixth-largest privately held company in Minnesota in 2011 and reported $3 billion in revenue in 2012 and 15,000 workers.
