Scientology protesters march in St. Paul


A handful of Minnesota Anonymous members held signs and stood outside the Church of Scientology building in downtown St. Paul on Sunday, the Pioneer Press reports.

The march was peaceful, but the newspaper notes those gathered alerted police when one of the protesters wrote a derogatory note in chalk on the side of the building.

The protest was among a worldwide effort Sunday centered around a church member in Florida who died under suspicious circumstances in Dec. 1995.

Last week, a public affairs director for the Church of Scientology told the city council, "The intent of the group is to actually harass and intimidate church members, and we're hoping you will vote against it," the Pioneer Press reported
