The search for a missing 75-year-old Hugo man who never returned from a Sunday evening walk has been suspended, the Pioneer Press reports.
Law enforcement officials called off the search for Radivoje Ray Novakovic at 3 p.m. Monday.
Novakovic left his home on the 13000 block of Europa Trail N. around 7 p.m. Sunday to take his usual walk. FOX 9 said Novakovic often walks three to four miles a day.
The Star Tribune says family members called police around 10 p.m. when Novakovic didn't return. Novakovic suffers from diabetes, is mildly bipolar and has been known to get disoriented, KSTP reported.
Police were concerned that Novakovic may have experienced blood-sugar issues related to his diabetes. No foul play is suspected.
Deputies searched along Novakovic's usual walking routes until about 4 a.m. Monday and resumed their efforts four hours later with the help of the Minnesota State Patrol helicopter, Washington County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Patrol, Water Patrol, canine unit and officers from several nearby police departments.
Novakovic is approximately 5-foot-6 inches tall, 160 pounds and has gray and white hair. He was last seen wearing a maroon shirt, khaki pants and a brown hat.
The sheriff's office is asking residents to check their properties for signs of Novakovic, who may have sought shelter in a shed or garage.
