Officials in Pine County are looking for a father and his children who have been missing since they failed to show up for a custody hearing last Friday.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension issued a crime alert Tuesday for Peter John Kunze, 44, of Hinckley, his 16-year-old daughter Sean Emily Hanson and his 12-year-old son Joshua Kunze.

The BCA said authorities are concerned for the welfare of the children.

Kunze is believed to have two adult children with him as well. They are Ashley Kunze, 22, and Christian Kunze, 20 (shown at right). He may also have the family's three dogs with them.

They are believed to be driving in a dark colored 1991 Ford Explorer, with a Minnesota license plate 952MUM.

The children's mother has created a Facebook page to assist with the search.

Here are descriptions of each of the missing:

Peter Kunze: 44 years old, 5'9” tall, 220 lbs with blue eyes.

Joshua Alexander Kunze: 12 years old, 5'2" tall, 120 lbs with short brown hair, blue eyes and glasses.
