Authorities in Sherburne County are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman in what appears to be a murder-suicide.

WCCO reports the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office received a call from a relative around 1:30 p.m. Friday reporting that Christopher Norrbom, 47, may have shot his wife and was threatening suicide.

Officers responded to the home in the 12300 block of 77th St. in Clear Lake Township, where several departments and SWAT teams got involved in a standoff with the man.

Negotiators were talking to Christopher Norrboom on the phone when communications broke down, according to WCCO. SWAT officers were able to enter the garage, where the body of 47-year-old Janell Norrbom was found.

At 6:41 p.m., the body of Christopher Norrboom was located inside the house.

The Star Tribune reported that Christopher Norrbom was Janell Norrbom's estranged husband.
