A woman who brought her new boyfriend with her to retrieve her dog from the home of her ex wound up seeing both men fatally shot.

The Star Tribune reports the Otter Tail County sheriff says a murder-suicide near New York Mills last week involved the jealous ex-boyfriend, who killed the new suitor before turning the gun on himself.

Sheriff Brian Schleuter tells the newspaper the woman did not expect 23-year-old Jacob Geisner to be home. Ethan M. Horner was killed at the scene last Wednesday night. Geisner later died at a hospital.
