SkyDeck is the big arcade on the fourth floor with the black-lit bowling.

If you went to the Mall of America recently to get your black-lit bowling on, you would have run into a problem.

SkyDeck Sports Grille and Lanes has been closed since early June, leaving the megamall's fourth floor a bit less of a draw for arcade enthusiasts.

But things will get back to normal shortly.

The Mall of America announced SkyDeck will be reopening "soon" as ... GameWorks.

Are GameWorks and SkyDeck functionally the same thing? Yep. Arcade games, sports on the TVs, food, bowling. And SkyDeck was actually a GameWorks affiliate company, so this feels like more of a rebranding than anything else.

But if you've got some credits on your GameWorks game card and happen to be at one of the seven other GameWorks in the country, you can use the card there too.

Still, it'll be the first GameWorks in Minnesota since that location in downtown Minneapolis' Block E building, which closed back in 2010.
