Your Snapchat pictures won't disappear after 10 seconds anymore

Remember when the whole idea was to send pictures that disappear 10 seconds after opening them?

You know how the whole idea behind Snapchat was sending pictures and videos that disappear 10 seconds after you open them?

Well, that's all changing with the newest update Snapchat released Tuesday.

Snapchat is now offering "limitless" snaps. Which basically means you can choose to have your snapped photos play for up to 10 seconds – like before – or for infinity.

So if you want to spend a long time looking at a single picture, you can. But as soon as you close out of the photo or move onto the next one, it'll disappear like usual.

There's a similar change for videos, too.

No, Snapchat hasn't nixed the 10 second recording limit. But there is now a looping feature, which means you can choose to have your videos loop over and over again. Those videos won't disappear until the recipient closes out of them.

Other updates

Snapchat is unveiling a few other features, too. Like there's a new "Magic Eraser" tool located near the scissors now. It allows you to delete random things from photos and videos.

You can also draw with emojis now. It works just like drawing normally does – except instead of a solid line, emojis show up.

While this absolutely brings a whole new level of creativity to snapping, not everyone's happy about it. Some say it's taking away what used to make Snapchat so great – aka sending random, ugly photos to friends just because.
