Snow moving into north central Minnesota by Sunday

Winter is arriving in Minnesota in mid October.

The National Weather Service Saturday issued a Winter Weather Advisory for a portion of west central Minnesota for Sunday morning.

Forecasters are expecting between 1-4 inches of snow in the area included in the advisory.

Some of the cities included in the Winter Weather Advisory are Crookston, Moorhead, Detroit Lakes, Park Rapids, and New York Mills.

A mix of rain and snow is expected to develop across the region late Saturday night into Sunday morning. Forecasters say the snowfall amounts may vary significantly over short distances. In addition the wind gusts could approach 30 miles an hour in the region reducing visibility.
