Trucking software firm XRS names new chief financial officer

Mike Weber, vice president of finance at XRS Corp., is being promoted to new chief financial officer, according to the company's news release. He is replacing Scott Christian who left the Eden Prairie-based software company in June. Weber has worked at XRS since 2007.

Mike Weber, vice president of finance at XRS Corp., is being promoted to new chief financial officer, according to the company's news release. He is replacing Scott Christian who left the Eden Prairie-based software company in June. Weber has worked at XRS since 2007 and brings more than 25 years of finance expertise to his new role.

The Business Journal notes XRS changed its name from Xata Corp. this summer.

Valspar looking for new chief financial officer, Walker to retire

Valspar Corporation's CFO Lori Walker plans to retire after 12 years with the Minneapolis-based maker of paints and industrial coatings, the Twin Cities Business reports. According to a company news release, Walker will remain with Valspar until a successor is named and “available to the company for an extended period thereafter to ensure a seamless transition.”

Xcel's chief nuclear officer Koehl resigns

Dennis Koehl, currently the senior vice president and chief nuclear officer of Xcel Energy has been named the CEO of the South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Co. Koehl will leave in mid-September after nearly five years with the Minneapolis-based utility. The Business Journal reports an interim chief nuclear officer, responsible for the company's Prairie Island and Monticello nuclear plants, will be named soon.

Supervalu fires CEO, names replacement

Supervalu has pushed out CEO Craig Herkert from the struggling Eden Prairie-based supermarket chain, the Associated Press reports. Chairman Wayne Sales will take on the roles of president and chief executive officer as Supervalu explores a possible sale of its operations following disappointing quarterly results.
