Allegiant returns to Rochester with new service
Starting Nov. 1, the regional carrier will offer two weekly non-stop flights from the Rochester International Airport to Mesa, Ariz., the Post Bulletin reports. A 26-year-old soldier killed in Afghanistan on Sept. 13 was a student at Minnesota State University Mankato. Sgt. Kyle B. Osborn of Lafayette, Indiana was a civil engineering student but dropped out after two years to join the military. Funeral services will be held in Indiana.
Funeral set for slain Lake City officer
Family and friends of Lake City police officer Shawn Schneider will gather this Saturday, January 7. His funeral is set for 1 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Lake City. Officer Schneider was shot during a domestic dispute two weeks ago. The 32-year-old remained in critical condition at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for 11 days before he died of his injuries Friday.
