Google acknowledged service disruptions in Gmail, Google Drive and Google Docs. However, Google claimed the unexplained outage affected less than 0.007 percent of all Gmail users, according to Arstechnica.com.
"We will post the root cause of the issue there when our teams have completed their investigation," Google's press-relations team wrote in an email to the Huffington Post. "In the meantime, for everyone who is affected, we apologize - we know you count on Google to work for you and we're working hard to restore normal operation for you."
Many frustrated users turned to Twitter to complain about various Google services being down.
Mashable notes this isn't the first time Google Apps have had similar glitches.
