Owatonna's Owl City plays hit song on 'Today' show

Pop music star and Owatonna native Owl City, also known as Adam Young, played a live gig on NBC's "Today" show Thursday morning, serenading an outdoor crowd with his song "Fireflies" and also performing with Carly Rae Jepsen, singing "Good Time."

Drive-in will be sent out with a song

The Cottage View Drive-In is reaching the end of its 46-year road. Its owner plans to send the old place out in style. On Sep. 27th a free goodbye party will feature a sing-along version of "Grease." A Wal-Mart will take its spot in Cottage Grove, leaving the Twin Cities with just a single drive-in.

State Fair asks: Your favorite karaoke song?

Nearly 50,000 Minnesota State Fair visitors last year sang at the karaoke-style Giant Sing Along, which features rows of microphones to encourage group participation. This year, the fair is planing a more extensive playlist and extended hours, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Visit the fair's website to vote for your favorite sing-along tune.
