Spirit now flying nonstop from MSP to Dallas

Spirit Airlines has added daily nonstop flights between the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and Dallas-Forth Worth, according to a news release.

The low-fare, high-fee carrier first announced plans to expand its service out of the Twin Cities last summer.

Minnesota Public Radio says Sun Country, Delta and American airlines also offer direct service to Dallas-Fort Worth,

Spirit made its Twin Cities debut more than a year ago with daily flights to Chicago and Las Vegas. KSTP notes the airline also flies directly to Denver.

Spirit Airlines to offer new direct flights from MSP

Spirit Airlines is already expanding its service out of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Starting in April 2013, Spirit will add non-stop flights to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The Florida-based airline will also offer seasonal non-stop service to Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers between Nov. 8 through April 24, 2013. Spirit debuted in the Twin Cities market less than two months ago with daily flights to Chicago and Las Vegas.
