A St. Cloud man has been arrested in the stabbing of his mother.

The St. Cloud Times reports that Dean Allan Friese, 52, of St. Cloud, was arrested in the stabbing death of Lois Arlene Omeara, 72. She was found dead of multiple stab wounds around 4 am Saturday.

KSTP TV says Friese was arrested and booked in the Stearns County Jail on suspicion of second degree murder. The Star Tribune reports that the case is being referred to the county attorney's office for possible charges.

Omeara was the manager of the Wimbledon Green apartments. She lived in a first-floor apartment, while Friese lived in a third-floor apartment. Recently she had expressed concerns about her sons behavior to friends.

Authorities are not pursuing other suspects at this time, St. Cloud police and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are continuing to investigate.
