Police have found the driver suspected in a hit-and-run that killed a 5-year-old St. Joseph boy Monday afternoon.

The boy, Cody Nuckolls, was run over outside his home as he and his mother waited for his 7-year-old sister to get off a school bus that had stopped there, KSTP reports.

The station notes that police used surveillance video from the bus to identify the black Chevy Trailblazer that appeared to have struck Cody and sped off.

The St. Cloud Times reports that authorities then tracked down the vehicle and interviewed the suspected driver, who is "cooperating" with the investigation.

According to the paper, police have not named the suspect but did specify that the person lives in the area.

Officers will use a search warrant to inspect the vehicle, while autopsy results from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner are pending, according to WJON.
