St. Louis Park 2-year-old found safe in Wisconsin; father arrested

Authorities say a 2-year-old boy abducted from his mother's home in St. Louis Park has been found safe and his father was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping.

KSTP reports the Wisconsin State Patrol arrested Marque Montez Charleston, 33, without incident on Sunday afternoon. WCCO reports Charleston is a lieutenant in the Minnesota Army National Guard.

Milwaukee station WISN says the 2-year-old, Marque Montez Charleston, Jr., saws sleeping in his father's SUV when it was pulled over near Lake Delton, Wisc. Authorities were arranging to reunite the boy with his mother.

Earlier Sunday the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension had asked for the public's help in finding Charleston and his son.

As the Pioneer Press reports, the agency said the boy's father broke into the home of the mother at about 1 a.m., assaulted the woman, and took the boy with him when he fled.

The Minnesota Army National Guard confirmed to WCCO that Charleston is a a lieutenant in the finance detachment and has been a member of the Guard since 1998.
