The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office says an 11-year-old boy apparently drowned Wednesday in a Corcoran farm pond Wednesday. Officials say two young brothers from St. Paul were visiting the farm with their family when one brother alerted an adult that his brother was in the pond and needed help. Officials say the boy had been under water and was unconscious.

A St. Paul priest was charged this week with sexually abusing two boys in his camper trailer on the church's parking lot in 2010. Curtis Wehmeyer, 47, of Oakdale, was arrested in June after one of the boys told his mother. The boys were 12 and 14 at the time of the alleged abuse, according to a new criminal complaint.

Torrential rain caused major flooding in Duluth Wednesday. A state of emergency was declared. Police told residents to stay home. At least one neighborhood was evacuated and roads and highways were closed, including Interstate 35 at several points. The Lake Superior Zoo was badly flooded and a number of animals drowned.

The lawyer for the woman accused of drowning puppies at her Sciota Township dog kennel says he will challenge the constitutionality of the law she is accused of violating more than a dozen times. Dayna K. Bell, 61, owns Bell Kennels and Farm, where three former employees say she drowned puppies in a bucket of water or by tying a cinder block to the animals' necks and throwing them in a swimming pool.

New airline coming to Minneapolis-St. Paul

Airport officials say they will reveal the name Wednesday of a new airline locating at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The Minneapolis Airports Commission says the airline flies internationally but will fly only to domestic airports from Minneapolis.
