St. Paul burger joint makes it on to national top 50 list

This modest Hamline Avenue Irish bar packs a punch when it comes to burgers.

Good news, St. Paulites: your city is home to one of the best burger joints in the country.

That's according to review site Foursquare, which teamed up with Business Insider to identify the 50 best burger places in the country based upon customer feedback.

In second place overall is Casper and Runyon's Nook at 492 Hamline Ave. S, which is praised by reviewers for its "delish" Juicy Lucys and its hand cut "crispy" fries.

The Irish bar describes itself as "a small place with big burgers," and a look at its menu shows more than 20 choices of varying styles.

Included in the list is the aforementioned Juicy Lucy-style burger it calls the "Juicy Nookie." It also offers a Minnesota Twins-themed variation with pepper cheese called the "Paul Molitor."

With an average Foursquare rating of 9.5 after 435 reviews, Casper and Runyon's has the highest rating in the state for burger places, and is second in the nation only to the Austin, Texas-based Hopdoddy Burger Bar.

You can find out more about Casper and Runyon's at its website.
