St. Paul enjoys apartment boom, too

Author:

Renters seeking well-equipped apartment buildings in an urban setting have driven demand for apartment developments in downtown Minneapolis.

Now developers are betting the boom will continue in downtown St. Paul, the Pioneer Press reports. They say the growth there is fueled by the newly employed who are reluctant to buy, the aftereffects of the housing market's rough patch, and the Central Corridor light-rail line and a new minor league baseball stadium – both arriving soon, the newspaper reports.

Four notable apartment projects are under way in downtown St. Paul or nearby neighborhoods, the Pioneer Press says.
