A St. Paul Man was charged Friday in Ramsey County Court with two felony counts of terroristic threats after being accused of pointing an AK-47 assault rifle at his 15-year-old daughter during an argument about her high school grades, WCCO-TV reports.

A Police complaint says Kirill Bartashevitch, 51, and his daughter were arguing at their residence Jan. 13 when the alleged incident took place. The complaint says Bartashevitch was upset that the girl got two Bs instead of two As, and he swore at her.

After the girl told her father that she hated him, he allegedly grabbed his recently purchased AK-47 and pointed it at her, the complaint says.

Police responded to the alleged incident Jan. 17 after being notified by a school social worker at St. Paul's Central Senior High School, WCCO reported.

The Pioneer Press says that the girl's mother verified the girl's account of the alleged incident in an interview with a worker with child protection services, and also said the father pushed the girl to the floor.

According to the Pioneer Press, the worker also interviews Bartashevitch, claims the gun wasn't loaded and he checked the chamber to see if it was empty before pointing the gun at the girl and mother.

The paper says police searched Bartashevitch's home and found 9 mm ammunition and two receipts documenting sale of two rifles.

KARE-TV says Bartashevitch faces a maximum of five years in prison on each count if he's found guilty.
