A St. Paul man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his girlfriend after her body was found at a motel in Indiana.
The body of 38-year-old Shannon Morrison was found at a Super 8 motel in Hammond, northwest Indiana, in the early hours of Sunday morning, FOX 9 reports.
She was visiting Hammond from St. Paul to attend a graduation party with her boyfriend, a 33-year-old man who was arrested by Twin Cities police later on Sunday, the TV station notes.
According to the Chicago Sun Times, police were called by the 33-year-old's mother after he had called her from the motel asking her to buy him a bus ticket back to Minnesota.
Morrison's body was then found, with her death being ruled a homicide by a medical examiner, though the manner of her death has not yet been revealed.
The Pioneer Press reports that her boyfriend was arrested on Sunday at the Union Depot bus and rail station.
He is being held in St. Paul until criminal charges and an extradition order are processed in Indiana, the newspaper notes.
