The St. Paul police officer who was filmed kicking a man in a video posted to YouTube was discipled after shoving an 18-year-old to the ground when he was working as a St. Paul Park police officer in 2006, the Star Tribune reports.

Police are investigating the Aug. 28 incident. Officer Jesse Zilge is on paid leave.

The man who was kicked, Eric Hightower, says he was choking on MACE at the time he was kicked, the Pioneer Press reported.

He has been charged in connection with stalking an ex-girlfriend.
