St. Paul Police arrest, book woman in fatal stabbing of her boyfriend

A St. Paul home that had apparently been visited by police a number of times for domestic disturbances is now the site of an alleged murder.

A 34-year-old woman is now in custody for the killing of the man described as her boyfriend, 30-year-old Obinna Udo Nwankpa, the Star Tribune reports.

The paper says the two were in a long-term, but apparently "rocky" relationship, as police had made several calls to the Burr Street address over the past two years.

Early Tuesday morning, police discovered Nwankpa lying on the steps of the home's basement with an "apparent stab wound to his chest," according to a Facebook update. The victim was rushed to Regions Hospital but pronounced dead a short time later.

According to FOX 9, authorities said Nwankpa was stabbed during a "dispute."

Officers questioned the man's girlfriend and arrested her, booking her into the Ramsey County Adult Detention Center on murder.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
