Police are asking for help in finding a 16-year-old St. Paul girl who disappeared last week. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that the girl, Krystal Pankey, is involved in an ongoing federal case and police are concerned about her safety.
Police did not give any details about the nature of the case, but said Pankey is not a suspect.
She was last seen June 4 in the 300 block of Marie Ave East, said Howie Padilla, a spokesman for the St. Paul Police Department.
Investigators were following some leads early on and now are asking for the public's help in locating the missing teen, Padilla said.
"We have not been able to make contact with her, and we seriously want to do that," Padilla told the Pioneer Press.
Pankey last was seen at a relative's house on Marie Avenue, wearing sweatpants and a tank top. She is 5-feet 4-inches tall and 130 pounds. Investigators ask anyone with information to call 651-216-1636.
