The much sought-after medallion in the Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt was found in Cherokee Park Wednesday morning.
WCCO reports medallion hunters flooded into the park overnight after seeing the 11th of 12 clues.
The end draws nigh, no time to be wary --
"Hark cheekiest gopher" and not sanctuary.
When "you are here," you're in the right place;
The treasure lies near, in an icy embrace.
Don't trail away from Boreas land.
Search generally east from where you should stand.
If you want to survive, if you want to thrive,
Now is the time to revisit Clue Five.
The Pioneer Press reports Scot Tuma and Lynn Olson-Tuma of St. Paul dug it out of the ground with a garden hoe and spade. More details should be available Wednesday afternoon.
The finder qualifies for a $2,500 initial cash prize. An additional $2,500 is awarded if the finder brings in all of the published daily clues either clipped from the Pioneer Press or printed from TwinCities.com.
On top if that, an addition $5,000 is awarded if the finder has a button registered in his or her name.
Here’s an explanation of all the clues.
