A Star Wars: Episode IX release date and ... really, a new Indiana Jones? 🤔
We now know when some of the next Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies will be hitting the big screen.
On Tuesday, Disney announcedStar Wars: Episode IX is scheduled to hit theaters May 24, 2019.
Roman numerals can be confusing, so don't get Episode IX mixed up with VIII (aka The Last Jedi) which will be out Dec. 15 of this year.
The Last Jedi's story picks up where The Force Awakens left off. And this next one (Episode IX) will close out the third Star Wars trilogy – there's not much more information beyond that though. (Then of course there's last year's Rogue One and the upcoming Han Solo solo film, which is slated for 2018.)
As for Indiana Jones, the fifth chapter of that series is set to be released July 10, 2020 – 12 years after the last one, which if you don't remember wasn't the most-liked. Steven Spielberg will direct again, and Harrison Ford will be back. FYI, Ford will be days away from turning 77 years old when this new Indiana Jones' releases.
