Start saving: Some awesome Prince stuff will be up for auction

The top item? A 1959 Gibson acoustic L48.

Some of Prince's stuff is being sold at an auction next month.

Julien's Auctions will be hosting the sale in Los Angeles on Nov. 4 and 5, Minneapolis/St.Paul Business Journal said.

Items to bid on include a purple microphone that Prince used on stage. Julien's expects it to bring between $2,000 and $4,000, with the starting bid at a grand.

According to the listing on their site, the purple-painted microphone came from Prince's former guitar tech, who said the artist used it for multiple practices and performances, including his 2014 appearance on Saturday Night Live.

But the big ticket item at the auction is a guitar that Prince used in the early 1970s.

It's a 1959 Gibson acoustic L48 guitar that Julien's says was Prince's preferred instrument, used to create his early songs and play demos.

Prince also posed with the guitar in his first professional photos, taken by Robert Whitman in 1977 – and black and white prints from the session are also up for auction.

The guitar is expected to earn $40,000-60,000 with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the nonprofit Our House LA's Camp Erin for Grieving Children, the listing says.

Handwritten set lists and lyric sheets, an American Music Award for Purple Rainclothing and shoes, and a 1977 Minnesota title for Prince's Datsun coupe, the first car he bought with his advance from Warner Bros. Records, are among the other items included in the auction.
