Officials are looking for the driver of a minivan who they say shot at another driver on a busy Twin Cities freeway Tuesday morning.
No one was injured, but the Minnesota State Patrol says a bullet hit the victim's rear driver's side door as he drove down Interstate 35E, near University Avenue in St. Paul, just before 2 a.m.
It all began at a stoplight at I-35E and Wheelock Parkway. The victim said a man went up to his vehicle and was yelling. The victim kept driving on southbound I-35E, with the suspect following him.
The suspect ended up firing five to seven shots, the victim told the State Patrol. Officials say the vehicle was struck by at least one bullet.
Investigators aren't sure what led to the incident, but they don't believe it was road rage.
The suspect is described as a black man in his mid-20s, who's roughly 5-foot-8 and has shoulder-length dreadlocks. He was driving a white minivan – a Dodge or Chrysler – from the 2000s.
If anyone has information about the suspect of his vehicle, they're asked to call the State Patrol at 651-582-1509.
