State trooper caught speeding pleads guilty, gets a hefty fine

Author:

A Minnesota State Trooper clocked traveling nearly 40 mph above the speed limit has been fined.

Sgt. Jesse Grabow, a public information officer with the patrol, was caught on April 28 going 94 mph in a 55 mph zone on Highway 210 in Otter Tail County.

The Duluth News Tribune reports Grabow pleaded guilty at Otter Tail County District Court, and was fined $535.

According to the newspaper, court documents showed trooper Robyn Birr was patrolling the highway when she first noticed the car, not realizing at first it was another squad car.

It was previously reported that Grabow was on-duty at the time, but was not on an emergency call.

Valley News Live reports an internal investigation into Grabow is still ongoing following the incident.

He is still working as a trooper, but his public information officer duties are being handled by other troopers.
