The girl's body was found near Winona. Several items had been placed in the bag with the baby, including several porcelain angel figurines, a T-shirt and a piece of jewelry. Investigators are waiting for autopsy results to determine how the baby girl died.

Investigators say they won’t give up on finding the parents of the infant girl found dead last Labor Day floating just south of Winona inside a bag in the Mississippi River. “The world keeps moving on, but that doesn’t mean we forget about the cases,” Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension special agent Drew Evans said last week. “We still consider this an active investigation.”

Sheriff Dave Brand told Daily News a Christian burial will be held Saturday April 7. The baby girl was found with several items, including porcelain angels, in the Mississippi River south of Winona last September. Investigators are still looking for the person responsible for the infant's death.

FOX 9 reports authorities believe a woman in a white boat dropped the dead girl -- known as "Baby Angel" -- into the water on Labor Day.

Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension officials say investigators are working with a list of purchasers who bought the figurine that was made in Illinois. However, it's a long list that includes both people and businesses that may have re-sold the figurine.

The baby girl was found in the Mississippi River last September along with several personal items, including porcelain angels. An autopsy provided investigators with DNA information and they hope to use it to identify her parents. A funeral service is set for Saturday.

KARE 11 reports three unidentified babies have been found in the river since 1999. In each of those cases, Jeanne Madsten and her husband have bought a plot at a local cemetery to give each child a proper burial.
