Some stores will be getting Nintendo Switches on Friday – here's where to look

Quantities are limited, so prepare to line up.

If you've been trying to get your hands on a Nintendo Switch, Friday's your chance.

In honor of the big Mario Kart 8 Deluxe release for Switch, some stores will be getting a few of the popular gaming consoles in stock. Which is a pretty big deal for gamers, considering the Switch has been selling out everywhere. It's Nintendo’s fastest-selling console, after all.

Best Buy is one of the stores that's expecting to get Switches in stock. The company advises shoppers to get to their local Best Buy well ahead of time, though, because stores will have limited quantities.

The retailer plans on handing out tickets – one per customer – to the first people in line. When the tickets run out, that means the consoles have also run out.

Toys "R" Us tweeted out it'll also be getting some Switches. Similarly, the company reminds customers that the quantities are limited and that the consoles will only be sold in stores.

GameStop recently got a shipment of the consoles, but it started selling them on Wednesday. They might be sold out by Friday – you might want to call ahead to make sure.

And finally, Polygon says some Target stores might be selling consoles. For the past week, Target stores across the country have been decorated like Mario Kart in honor of the big release. When Target first announced its partnership with Nintendo, it said it would work to get some of the consoles in stock for Friday.

You can also keep an eye on the /r/NintendoSwitch and /r/Nintendo subreddits – retail employees sometimes post when they get notified of an incoming shipment.

Good luck!
