Storms moving through Minnesota, but more sunshine by Sunday

It could be a stormy night across Minnesota. After a beautiful, sunny summer day, clouds have moved in and so has a line of storms that could trigger some rain and severe weather.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for western and central Minnesota until midnight.

The line of storms was moving through the Dakotas and western Minnesota earlier Saturday evening, bringing some heavy rain.

The NWS says there's a slight risk of severe thunderstorms mainly across western Minnesota Saturday evening. Large hail, damaging winds and torrential rain are the main threats in this region.

Strong or isolated severe storms are possible across the rest of southern Minnesota tonight. Torrential rain and ponding of water/low land flooding are the main threats across this region overnight.

The storms will move out early Sunday, leading to another sunny day with high temperatures mostly in the 70s to low 80s, according to WCCO.

Then it will really start to feel like summer, with warm temps and dry conditions for nearly all of next week.
