Student who shot himself in class expected to recover
A North Dakota high school freshman who shot himself in a classroom in an apparent suicide attempt Thursday morning is expected to recover, the Associated Press reports. The Breckenridge, Minn., hospital where he is recovering has not released his condition. Authorities say he never lost consciousness.
The boy reportedly said, "I'm sorry," before shooting himself in front of algebra classmates. He attends a small K-12 school with about 110 students.
The small town is struggling to come to grips with the shocking incident, WDAY reports.
