A Wisconsin man is charged with attempted murder after allegedly pouring gasoline on his wife and igniting the gas with a lighter. A criminal complaint said 59-year-old Andrew Spear suspected his wife, Mary Spear, a state attorney, was having an affair. Spear then drove his wife to their storage unit Aug. 16 where he forced her inside, told her to undress and set her on fire.

A cop's creative thinking and a convoy of 18-wheelers helped save a man threatening to throw himself from a bridge on I-94 in Minneapolis on Monday. State Trooper Carl Hoffman called in the rigs to line up below the man in hopes of saving him if he jumped.
