Summer-like weather for unofficial start of summer

It's one of those almost perfect weather days in Minnesota -- some sunshine, warm temperatures, low humidity and a nice breeze. Temperatures around the region generally hit the upper 70s to low 80s today, for a great start to the long holiday weekend.

Whatever you've got planned for Memorial Day weekend, the weather is going to cooperate for the most part, according to the KSTP. We'll see those summer-like temperatures for the next several days, although it's going to start feeling a little more humid by Sunday, and there's a chance for a few showers or a thunderstorm, mainly Sunday night and into Monday. But they shouldn't wash out any of your outdoor plans.

Here's the Twin Cities metro forecast, courtesy of the National Weather Service.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Clear to partly cloudy with increasing humidity. Lows in the low 60s, with south winds at 5 to 10 mph.

SUNDAY: Partly cloudy and more humid, with a 20 percent chance for thunderstorms in the late afternoon or evening. Highs in the low 80s.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy and humid, with lows in the mid 60s. A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8 p.m. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy and humid, with highs in the low 80s. A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT:Mostly cloudy and humid, with lows in the mid-60s. A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. South wind around 5 mph.
