On a sunny day in Duluth, tortilla chips came down from the sky

There was a special delivery from above on the bayfront

You may have heard that in Minnesota, summer temperatures are cooler near Lake Superior.

Evidently the marketing folks with Doritos had heard that, too. They said it was on account of Duluth's "coolness" that they chose the city as the place to launch their new flavor of chips, which are called Heat Wave.

They let word slip out on Tuesday so a lunchtime crowd would form at Bayfront Festival Park.

Then two helicopters and an aerial stuntman delivered the goods from above.

Mix 108 posted a nearly four-minute-long video capturing the experience. The News Tribune got theirs down to less than a minute.

Northeastern Minnesota news blogger Aaron Brown gave the spectacle a shake of the head as one big advertisement ... while also acknowledging that the chips are pretty darn good.
