A Super Nintendo Classic with 21 games is coming this year
Let's file this under "Some of the least surprising news possible."
Nintendo announced a Super Nintendo Classic Edition Monday – a follow-up to the crazy successful NES Classic, which was discontinued after months of sellouts.
The SNES Classic will be out Sept. 29 for $79.99.
The big question: Which games?
The SNES comes with 21 titles, including the never-released Star Fox 2, as well as Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart,Link to the Past, and Donkey Kong Country. Here's the full list:
- Contra III: The Alien Wars
- Donkey Kong Country
- EarthBound
- Final Fantasy III
- F-ZERO
- Kirby Super Star
- Kirby’s Dream Course
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Mega Man X
- Secret of Mana
- Star Fox
- Star Fox 2
- Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
- Super Castlevania IV
- Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
- Super Mario Kart
- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
- Super Mario World
- Super Metroid
- Super Punch-Out!!
- Yoshi’s Island
And not to brag for our coworker Dana Wessel, but he actually nailed some of these in his list of titles that "must be included" on a SNES Classic.
The SNES Classic comes with the mini console, two wired controllers (to get that couch multiplayer going), an HDMI cable, USB charger, and the plug-in.
