Superintendent arrested for exposing self at a Kwik Trip

Scott Staska works for the Rocori Schools District, and was in line for a top job in Moorhead.

What's happening?

A 56-year-old man was arrested after an incident on Sunday allegedly saw him expose himself to employees at a Kwik Trip in Waite Park, Minnesota.

The suspect in question has since been revealed to be Scott Staska, who is the superintendent of Rocori Schools District, covering Cold Spring, Rockville and Richmond.

He was booked into Stearns County Jail on misdemeanor probable cause indecent exposure charges and was released the same day pending formal charges.

Police say he may have done this before

Staska was allegedly seen on surveillance video exposing himself to Kwik Trip workers, Waite Park police told BMTN.

Police tracked him down via his license plate, and say that their initial investigation has found similar behavior had happened at least four times at the same store since December.

"It is not clear why the previous incidents were not reported sooner," Police Chief Dave Bentrud said.

KSTP reports Staska, who has been the head of the district since 2002, is on paid administrative leave, with school officials saying they're not aware of any past safety issues to students or staff.

Staska had been listed on the Moorhead Public Schools website as one of six finalists for the district's superintendent position.

However on Thursday morning, a new post has gone up saying Moorhead will interview five finalists, with Staska's name removed.

Note: It is not usual Bring Me The News policy to name suspects prior to formal charges are brought, but an exception was made owing to Staska's standing in the community and his role overseeing a public school district.
