Bachmann reportedly raised and spent $16 million though this year through July, while her Democratic opponent, Jim Graves, raised more than $578,000 and spent close to $227,000 in the same time period.

Bottoms Up: Craft beer sales jump in Upper Midwest

From the August Schell Brewery in New Ulm, Minnesota's oldest craft brewer, to the just-established Mankato Brewery, the craft beer phenomenon continues to explode. The state has about 30 specialty brew labels. According to Advertising Age, sales of craft beer in the Upper Midwest jumped 16 percent last year, greater than the national increase of 15.1 percent.
