Suspect in Mpls. double homicide arrested in Iowa

A suspect in a Minneapolis double homicide was arrested in Iowa. According to the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, 22-year-old Ishmael Roberts allegedly crashed a stolen van into a ditch in Waterloo, Iowa Monday night. Roberts fled the scene but was eventually located by police. Officers said Roberts appeared to be intoxicated.

A suspect in a north Minneapolis double homicide was arrested in Iowa, WCCO reports.

According to the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, 22-year-old Ishmael Roberts allegedly crashed a stolen van into a ditch in Waterloo, Iowa Monday night. Roberts fled the scene but was eventually located by police. Officers said Roberts appeared to be intoxicated.

Roberts is a suspect in the murders of 57-year-old Beatrice Wilson and a teenage grandson she was raising, the Star Tribune says.

Minneapolis police say the van Roberts was driving belonged to Wilson. The Iowa newspaper noted from arrest paperwork that Roberts also has the same Minneapolis address as Wilson.
