Suspect sought in strong-arm robbery at jewelry store


Surveillance video from a Coon Rapids jewelry store shows a man stealing a $16,000 engagement ring from a sales associate's finger and taking off, KARE 11 reports. Police are looking for the public's help in locating the suspect shown below:

Authorities say the man walked into Kay Jewelers in Riverdale Village on Sunday and asked the woman behind the counter to try on a 1.6-carat Leo diamond ring. He then grabbed her, wrestled the ring off her finger and ran out of the store.

The woman suffered a broken finger.

According to the Star Tribune, the suspect is described as a white man between the ages of 18 to 25 years old and between 5 foot 7 inches and 5 foot 9 inches tall. He's reported to be clean shaven with sandy blonde hair. Witnesses say he left in a white, two-door Toyota Celica.
