Authorities in southeast Minnesota are searching for a man suspected of stealing three cars – and crashing two of them – since Monday, all while managing to evade police, KTTC reports.

According to the Rochester Post-Bulletin, authorities say the pursuit started with a hit-and-run involving a stolen vehicle in Oronoco (about 15 minutes north of Rochester) in the late morning. The suspect reportedly crashed that car, stole another, dashed through other counties including Wabasha and Olmsted, then crashed that vehicle after driving through some fields, the Post-Bulletin reports.

The third car reportedly ran out of gas in Wisconsin, and the suspect then stole another vehicle, KTTC says.

The Post-Bulletin says the suspect ran out of gas in Goodhue County, and gave himself up when approached by deputies, who were no longer in direct pursuit at the time.

Multiple outlets say he was arrested around 6 p.m. Monday, despite reports Tuesday morning stating he was still on the run.

He has not yet been charged.
